This notice explains what personal data Scale Ventures Limited ("we") collects through scaleventures.co.uk, why, and your rights over it. We are the data controller. Contact: Connie@scaleventures.co.uk.

What we collect

• Account data — name, email address and a hashed password when you create an account; your notification preference; the organisation you belong to for client access areas.
• Purchase data — subscription status, plan, purchase history and Paddle customer and transaction identifiers. We never see or store card numbers; Paddle handles payment details.
• Usage data — server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security and troubleshooting, and records of which paid content you have accessed.
• Correspondence — emails you send us and contact form submissions.

Why we use it

• To provide your account, deliver content you have paid for and manage subscriptions (performance of a contract).
• To send transactional email: verification links, password resets, receipts and purchase confirmations (performance of a contract).
• To notify you of new publications, only if you have opted in; you can opt out on your account page at any time (consent).
• To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and enforce our terms (legitimate interests).
• To meet tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

• Paddle.com Market Ltd — merchant of record; processes payments, tax and invoicing under its own privacy policy.
• Resend — delivers our transactional email.
• Hostinger — hosts the site and database.

Each acts under contract and only on our instructions. Some providers are outside the UK; transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request. Purchase records are kept for 6 years to meet accounting requirements. Server logs are kept for 90 days.

Cookies

We use a single strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Paddle's checkout sets its own cookies when you pay.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. Email us and we will respond within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We will post any changes to this notice here and update the date above.
